This is so good, I think this is now one of my favorite desserts!! Ingredients:
1 pint fresh strawberries, cut in half |
2 tablespoons butter |
5 tablespoons sugar |
1/2 orange, juice of |
1 1/2 ounces cognac or 1 1/2 ounces brandy |
2 1/2 teaspoons fresh ground pepper |
french vanilla ice cream |
Directions:
1. Remove hulls from strawberries; wash berries under cool water. In a skillet melt butter. Add sugar and stir constantly until it's caramel in color. 2. Add orange juice and strawberries, simmering for a few minutes. Add the cognac or brandy, and allow the alcohol to cook off. Add pepper. 3. To serve, place a scoop of ice cream in a bowl, and spoon berries on top. |
