Peppered Steak in Red Wine Sauce Ingredients:
2 teaspoons peppercorns |
1 tablespoon olive oil |
2 steaks |
100 ml red wine |
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder |
1/2 teaspoon rosemary |
1/2 teaspoon thyme |
Directions:
1. Mix the crushed peppercorns with the olive oil. Pour the mixture on to a dinner plate and rub into both sides of the steaks. Leave to marinate in the fridge for 1 hour. 2. Heat a frying pan or a griddle until hot and cook the steaks for 2-3 minutes on each side (for rare), or longer on all sides and cooked to your liking. Remove the steaks and set aside in a warm place. 3. Add the wine, garlic, rosemary, and thyme to the pan and stir well, scraping up any browned bit from the bottom of the pan with a wooden spoon. Simmer for 5 minutes, until the volume of liquid has reduced, and you have a thick sauce and pour over the steaks. |
