Oats, honey and whole wheat flour Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups water |
1/3 cup instant milk |
1 tablespoon shortening |
1 tablespoon flax seed |
1 cup rolled oats |
2 tablespoons oat bran |
2 tablespoons wheat germ |
1/3 cup honey |
1/4 cup vital wheat gluten |
3 cups whole wheat flour |
2 teaspoons active dry yeast |
1 teaspoon white sugar |
1 teaspoon salt |
Directions:
1. Mix yeast, sugar and 1/4 cup of the water. Let sit til bubbly. 2. Add wet ingredients, then dry ingredients. Knead for 15 minutes. 3. Let rise for about 2 hours. 4. Punch down and form into a loaf. Let rise 1 hour or until doubled. 5. Bake at 375°F for 35 minutes. |
