Penne with Tomato Herb Cream Sauce |

This is a favourite recipe that I found years ago in our local newspaper. Ingredients:
2 tablespoons oil |
1 clove garlic, minced |
1 medium onion, chopped |
1 (28 ounce) can diced tomatoes or 4 medium tomatoes, diced |
1 teaspoon sugar |
1 teaspoon dried basil |
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
3 cups penne |
1/2 cup whipping cream |
Directions:
1. Saute onion and garlic in oil. 2. Add tomatoes, sugar, basil, oregano, salt. 3. Bring to a boil, then simmer 20-25 minutes. 4. Meanwhile, cook pasta. 5. Stir cream into sauce and heat through. |
