Penne With Prosciutto and Vodka Sauce |

Wonderful dish that is easy to make and interesting in flavor Ingredients:
1 onion, chopped |
2 stalks celery, chopped |
3 garlic cloves, minced |
1/4 cup olive oil |
1/4 lb prosciutto, sliced |
3/4 cup vodka |
1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes |
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano |
2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped |
1 tablespoon dried basil |
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper |
1 cup half-and-half cream |
1 lb penne pasta |
Directions:
1. In a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat. 2. Cook onion, celery, and garlic in oil; stir until soft. 3. Add prosciutto and vodka. 4. Simmer until almost all liquid is gone. 5. Add tomatoes, cayenne, and herbs. Simmer for 10 minutes. 6. Stir in half and half, and heat for 3 minutes. 7. Meanwhile, cook pasta in boiling salted water until done. 8. Drain. 9. Serve sauce over noodles. |
