PECAN RICE PILAF This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Irvine Estate in Allen, Texas in 1994. Ingredients:
1/4 cup butter |
1/3 cup chopped white onion |
1 cup long grain wild rice |
2 cups chicken broth |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/2 cup chopped pecans |
Directions:
1. Melt butter in a saucepan then cook onion until tender. 2. Add rice and stir then cover with broth and sprinkle with salt. 3. Cover and simmer 40 minutes then sprinkle with pecans just before serving. |
