This is a combination of two favorite desserts: brownie on the bottom, pecan pie on top. To gild the lily, top each serving with a scoop of vanilla ice cream! Ingredients:
1/4 cup butter or 1/4 cup margarine |
2 tablespoons flour |
3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar |
2 eggs |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
2 cups chopped pecans |
1 (21 1/2 ounce) pakage deluxe fudge brownie mix (pillsbury suggested) |
1/2 cup very hot water |
1/4 cup oil |
1 egg |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease bottom only of a 9 x 13-inch pan. 2. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter; stir in flour until smooth. Add brown sugar add 2 eggs; mix well. Cook over medium-low heat for 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla and pecans. Set aside. 3. In a large bowl, combine brownie ingredients; beat 50 strokes with a spoon. Spread in prepared pan. Spoon fillling evenly over top. Bake in preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes or until set. *Do not overbake.* Cool completely. Cut into 24 bars. |
