2 2/3 c flour |
1 c + 4 t packed brown sugar, divided |
1 c margarine |
4 eggs |
1 c light corn syrup |
1 1/2 c finely pecans, chopped |
4 t margarine, melted |
2 t vanilla |
1/4 t salt |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 2. In a small bowl mix well flour and the 4 tablespoons brown sugar with fingers. 3. Work in 1 cup margarine until dough begins to hold together. 4. Press onto bottom of 13x9 pan. 5. Bake in preheated oven 12-15 minutes or until just firm. 6. In a medium bowl, lightly beat 1 cup brown sugar and the eggs. 7. Add corn syrup, pecans, melted butter, vanilla and salt; mix well. 8. Pour over crust. 9. Bake 25 minutes or just until edges are lightly brown. 10. Cool in pan on wire rack. 11. Cut in 3x1 bars. 12. Makes 54 bars. 13. Note: 14. For an attractive way to serve the bars, cut foil squares and place each bar point to point and bring up sides, then place on serving tray (they are a little sticky) |
