Pecan Orange French Toast |

Tried and true estate sale recipe. This is incredible. This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Darwin Estate in Allen, Texas in 2001. Ingredients:
4 eggs lightly beaten |
1/4 cup orange juice concentrate |
1/2 cup milk |
1/2 cup pecans finely ground |
1/2 teaspoon vanilla |
1/8 teaspoon cinnamon |
1 pinch nutmeg |
10 slices french bread each 1 inch thick |
Directions:
1. In shallow bowl beat together eggs, orange juice concentrate, milk, pecans, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg. 2. Dip bread into egg mixture coating both sides. 3. Soak for 30 seconds on each side. 4. In a skillet melt 1 tablespoon butter and cook the bread on both sides over medium heat for 3 minutes on each side. 5. Serve with butter. |
