Ingredients:
1/4 cup butter |
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar |
1 egg |
1 teaspoon vanilla extract |
1 cup sifted cake flour |
1 teaspoon baking powder |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1/2 cup chopped pecans |
Directions:
1. Cream butter; gradually add sugar, beating well. Add egg and vanilla; beat well. 2. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture, mixing well. Stir in pecans. 3. Spread batter in a greased and waxed paper-lined 8-inch square baking pan. Bake at 350° for 25 minutes. Cool and cut into 2 1/2- x 1-inch bars. 4. Note: Recipe may easily be doubled and baked in two 8- inch pans. |
