An easy way to update your peas. *Can be made vegetarian using vegetable stock granules in place of chicken bouillon.* Ingredients:
2 cups water |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1 1/3 cups peas, frozen (6 ounces) |
1 tablespoon butter |
1/2 teaspoon instant chicken bouillon granules |
1/2 teaspoon orange peel, freshly grated |
1/4 teaspoon tarragon |
1/16 teaspoon sugar |
Directions:
1. Combine water and salt in a medium saucepan. Bring to a full boil. Add peas. Return to a boil. Reduce heat to a simmer. Cover and cook 1 minute. 2. Drain peas in a colander. 3. Combine remaining ingredients in saucepan. Warm over low heat. Stir in drained peas. 4. Cover and keep warm over very low heat 2 minutes to blend flavors. |
