This is from the Diana Liu cookbook. I'm posting it here for future reference. Ingredients:
3/4 cup sweet rice (glutinous rice) |
1 lb ground pork |
2 green onions, chopped |
1 egg white |
1 tablespoon soy sauce |
1 teaspoon salt |
1 teaspoon sherry wine |
2 tablespoons bisquick baking mix or 2 tablespoons cornstarch |
5 water chestnuts, chopped |
Directions:
1. Soak sweet rice overnight, drain and set aside. 2. Mix ground pork with onion, egg white, soy sauce, salt, sherry, bisquick mix and water chestnuts. 3. Form balls about 1 1/2 diameter. 4. Roll balls in sweet rice until they are well covered. 5. Place balls in steamer. 6. Steam for 25 minutes. 7. Serve hot. 8. Note: Prep time does not include soaking time for sweet rice. |
