Gleaned from the annals of fxcuisine, this is grilled stale bread with toppings of your choosing. Rustic elegance to die for... Food for the Gods! Ingredients:
6 slices rustic italian bread |
12 walnuts, finely chopped |
6 ounces gorgonzola or other meltable blue cheese |
2 bosc pears |
olive oil |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. 2. Slice the bread thinly into 1/2 thicknesses. 3. Brush bread slices with olive oil. 4. Place bread on a rack in a hot oven and toast until browned. 5. Reduce oven temperature to 325 degrees F. 6. Remove the rind from the cheese. 7. Lay the toasted bread in an ovenproof dish. 8. Cover bread with thinly sliced cheese. 9. Garnish with walnuts. 10. Put bread back into a medium hot oven until cheese melts. 11. Core and cut the pears into small cubes. 12. Garnish the bruschetta with pear cubes as soon as it comes from the oven. 13. Serve. |
