Pear Paste and Cheddar Crackers |

What a wonderful recipe to find. These went down a treat at a party, and they were so easy! Ingredients:
1 kg pear |
1 tablespoon lemon juice |
750 g sugar |
250 g sharp cheddar cheese |
125 g water crackers |
Directions:
1. Core and chop pears, put into a saucepan with the lemon juice and half of the cores (make sure you dont have any seeds). 2. Barely cover the pears with water; simmer until pears are soft. 3. Puree the pears in a food processor, and return pears to a clean saucepan. Add the sugar and cook until very thick, make sure you are stirring regularly. 4. Pour the mixture into a lined deep baking tray and leave to firm at room temperature. Cut into pieces and serve with cheddar cheese and water crackers. |
