Ingredients:
6 1/2 pounds pears, peeled, cored, and cubed |
grated rind of 1 large orange |
grated rind of 1 large lemon |
juice of 1 large orange |
juice of 1 large lemon |
1 large cooking apple, peeled, cored, and cubed |
6 cups sugar |
1 (15-ounce) package raisins |
1 cup grape juice |
2/3 cup vinegar |
2 teaspoons ground cloves |
2 teaspoons ground mace |
1 teaspoon salt |
3 unbaked (9-inch) pastry shells |
Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients, except pastry shells, in a non-aluminum stock pot; bring to a boil. Cook, uncovered, over low heat 2 hours or until thickened, stirring occasionally. 2. Pour 4 cups filling into each pastry shell. Bake at 425° for 40 minutes. Cool before slicing. |
