This is so simple and so good. Update: I have changed the sugar ingredient amount from 5 1/2 cups to 2 1/2 cups-5 cups because it is so sweet, you don't need all the amount. Enjoy! Ingredients:
3 lbs fresh pears, peeled, cored, and finely chopped |
2 1/2-5 cups sugar |
1 (8 ounce) can crushed pineapple in juice |
1 tablespoon lemon juice |
Directions:
1. In a 6 quart stainless steel kettle combine all ingredients. 2. Bring to boiling, stirring occasionally. 3. Simmer 40 minutes. 4. Spoon into sterile jars, leaving a 1/2 inch head space. 5. Wipe jar rims, adjust lids. 6. Process in boiling water for 10 minutes. 7. Makes 7 half pints. |
