You can substitute an apple for one of the pears to vary this simple sauce. Ingredients:
1/3 cup fresh cranberries |
3 tablespoons water |
2 bartlett pears, peeled and coarsely chopped |
1 tablespoon sugar |
1/4 teaspoon grated orange rind |
Directions:
1. Combine first 3 ingredients in a small saucepan. Cover and cook over medium-low heat 25 minutes or until cranberries pop, stirring occasionally. 2. Remove from heat; stir in sugar and rind. Cool to room temperature. |
