So quick and easy, with beautifully festive flavors. Fresh ginger and cinnamon make this a big Thanksgiving hit. Ingredients:
6 bartlett pears, ripe |
1 1/2 cups water |
2 cups fresh cranberries, washed and picked over |
2 tablespoons sugar |
2 teaspoons ginger, grated |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1 cinnamon stick |
Directions:
1. Peel pears and grate using the largest grating holes. Add to large saucepan with remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and let simmer for 30 minutes. Make sure to stir throughout to avoid burning or sticking to the bottom of the pan. 2. Serve warm or at room temperature. |
