Peanut butter and bacon-Hello Elvis. Try it toasted with bananas on top. Yum. Ingredients:
1/2 lb. bacon, cooked and crumbled |
2 cups flour |
1 cup sugar |
3 tsp. baking powder |
1/2 tsp. salt |
1 cup peanut butter |
1 tsp. melted butter |
1 cup milk |
1 egg, slightly beaten |
1 cup chopped peanuts |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 325ºF 2. Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Cut in peanut butter until mixture is the consistency of cornmeal. 3. Combine butter, milk and egg. Pour into peanut butter mixture and mix thoroughly. Stir in crumbled bacon and chopped peanuts. 4. Pour into a greased and floured 9 x5 x3 loaf pan. Let stand 20 minutes. Bake in a 325ºF oven for 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. 5. Cool on rack. Makes 1 loaf |
