If you love peanut butter the frosting is delicious i usually make extra .. what can be better than peanut butter and chocolate.................. courtesy hometown recipes ... Ingredients:
cake |
2- cups all-purpose flour |
2- teaspoons baking soda |
1- teaspoon baking powder |
1/2- teaspoon salt |
2- cups granulated sugar |
2/3- cup unsweetened cocoa powder |
2- eggs |
1- cup milk |
2/3- cup vegetable oil |
1- teaspoon vanilla extract |
1- cup brewed coffee, cooled to room temperature,.. (or 1 cup water plus 1 teaspoon instant coffee granules) |
frosting.. |
1- (3 ounce) package cream cheese .softened |
1/4-- cup creamy peanut butter |
2- cups powdered sugar |
2- tablespoons milk |
miniature chocolate chips |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. grease a 9x 13 inch glass baking pan 2. To prepare the cake……… 3. Sift the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt into a large mixing bowl. 4. Add the granulated sugar , cocoa, and mix well. 5. Add the eggs , milk, oil and the vanilla.. 6. Using a mixer at medium speed beat for 2 minutes , scraping down the sides of the bowl. 7. Stir in the coffee .the batter will be thin……. 8. Pour the batter into the prepared pan 9. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes until a wooden pick inserted in the middle comes out clean.. 10. Cool completely…………on a wire rack 11. To prepare the frosting, combine the cream cheese and peanut butter in a large mixing bowl 12. Using a mixer, beat at medium speed until smooth. 13. Beat in the powdered sugar, milk , and vanilla.. 14. Beat until smooth 15. Spread the frosting over the top of the cake and sprinkle with mini chocolate chips 16. Store in refrigerator……. 17. Serves 16.……. |
