Found this in my mom's recipe box and am putting it here for safe keeping. Hope to try it soon! Ingredients:
2 cups flour |
2 cups sugar |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
3/4 cup butter |
1/2 cup peanut butter |
1 cup water |
1/2 cup buttermilk |
2 eggs |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
1/2 cup peanut butter |
1/2 cup butter |
5 tablespoons water |
1 lb powdered sugar |
2 teaspoons vanilla |
Directions:
1. Cake:. 2. Mix all dry ingredients together in a bowl. 3. In a sauce pan, combine water, butter, and peanut butter. 4. Bring to a boil then pour over dry ingredients, mix together. 5. Add buttermilk, eggs, and vanilla. 6. Pour into a greased sheet cake pan. 7. Bake for 20 minutes at 350. 8. Icing:. 9. Combine butter, peanut butter, and water in a sauce pan and bring to a boil. 10. Stirring mixture, boil for three minutes. 11. Add powdered sugar and vanilla. 12. Spread icing on cake while warm. |
