A new way to fix spaghetti! From Woman's Day Encyclopedia of Cookery. Ingredients:
2 tablespoons cooking oil |
1 small onion, minced |
1/4 cup minced green pepper |
1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste |
2 1/2 cups water |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/4 teaspoon ground oregano |
2 bay leaves |
1/2 cup peanut butter |
Directions:
1. Heat oil in saucepan. 2. Add onion and green pepper and cook for 2 to 3 minutes. 3. Add remaining ingredients except peanut butter. 4. Bring to boil. 5. Then stir in peanut butter. 6. Cover and simmer for 30 minutes, or until fairly thick, stirring occasionally. 7. Makes 3 cups, or enough for 1 pound spaghetti. 8. Note: Serve this on hot cooked spaghetti with a sprinkling of chopped parsley. |
