Ok, I realize this is a totally kid-friendly recipe, but I couldn't help but share it. I read this in a romance book I was reading...one of the characters made this. It didn't have specific measurements so I kind of played around with it until it came out. I don't really measure the honey, I usually just pour it in until it looks good but I had to give an amount. You can adjust ingredients to your taste. My kids love this recipe...and I have to admit, for a peanut butter sandwich I enjoyed it as well. Ingredients:
2 cups peanut butter |
1/4 cup carrot, shredded |
4 tablespoons honey |
1/4 cup sunflower seeds |
1/4 cup raisins |
4 bananas, peeled and sliced lengthwise and in half (if needed) |
8 -12 slices bread |
Directions:
1. Mix peanut butter, carrots, honey, sunflower seeds and raisins in a bowl. 2. Spread mixture on a slice of bread. 3. Add sliced bananas on top. 4. Top with slice of bread. 5. Repeat. 6. Can store any extra mixture for another time. |
