A Favorite with the younger set. from Home and garden Cook Book Ingredients:
1 cup soft shortening |
1 cup white sugar |
1 cup brown sugar |
2 eggs |
2 cups all-purpose flour |
1 cup peanut butter (smooth or crunchy) |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
2 teaspoons baking soda |
1 cup rolled oats (quick or old fashioned) |
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Have ungreased cookie. 2. sheets ready. 3. Beat together in a mixing bowl, shortening and sugars. 4. until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating. 5. well after each addition. Blend in peanut butter. 6. Mix dry ingredients together and stir into batter add. 7. rolled oats. Shape dough to form small 1-inch balls. 8. Place on ungreased cookie sheet 2-inches apart. 9. With a floured fork press each ball into criss cross pattern. 10.
