Peanut Butter Krispies Bars

With a parent's supervision, this is a kid-friendly recipe. Prep time includes time to chill.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup light corn syrup
1 dash salt
1 cup peanut butter
2 cups crisp rice cereal
1/4 cup butter or 1/4 cup margarine
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 tablespoon milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/4 cups sifted powdered sugar
Directions:
1. In large glass bowl, combine granulated sugar, corn syrup, and salt.
2. Microwave about 3 minutes or till sugar is dissolved.
3. Blend in peanut butter; stir in cereal.
4. Pat evenly into buttered 11x7x2-inch pan.
5. In small glass bowl, microwave butter or margarine and brown sugar for 45 seconds or till melted.
6. Add milk and vanilla.
7. Stir in powdered sugar; beat till smooth.
8. Spread over peanut butter-cereal mixture.
9. Chill till firm.
10. Cut into small bars.
11. Makes 4 dozen.
