This snack is loaded with fibre, vitamins and minerals - so tasty also!! Ingredients:
3 cups rolled oats |
1 cup natural bran |
1 cup unsweetened coconut |
1 cup sunflower seeds |
1/2 cup chopped almonds |
1/2 cup raisins |
1/4 cup wheat germ |
1/2 cup molasses |
1/2 cup vegetable oil |
1/2 cup brown sugar |
1/2 cup peanut butter |
1 tablespoon milk, 2 |
2 teaspoons vanilla |
3/4 teaspoon baking soda |
Directions:
1. Mix together rolled pats, bran, unsweetened coconut, chopped almonds, raisins, and wheat germ. Set aside. 2. Combine together molasses, vegetable oil, brown sugar and peanut butter in a 2 litre saucepan and cook over medium-low heat until dissolved. Stir constantly. 3. Combine the milk, vanilla and baking soda, and add to the molasses mixture. Stir for one more minute. Remove from heat. Pour molasses/milk mixture over granola mixture and stir untl dry ingredients are moist. Wet your hands, and press the mixture into a 15x10 inch pan. 4. Bake at 275F for 20-25 minutes. Let cool, cut into slices and store in the refrigerator. For best results, use Fancy molasses, Lite Molasses is not recommended. |
