The peanut butter cookie recipe I always use: makes anywhere from 3-4 dozen cookies, depending on how large you make them. Calorie count is per cookie. Ingredients:
1 1/4 cup flour, sifted |
1/2 tsp salt |
1 tsp baking powder |
1/2 cup butter or shortening |
1/2 cup peanut butter |
1/2 cup granulated sugar |
1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed |
1/2 tsp vanilla |
1 large egg |
Directions:
1. Sift together flour, salt, and baking powder ? set aside. 2. Cream butter, peanut butter and the sugars, then beat in the egg and vanilla. 3. Stir in flour mixture, blending well. 4. Shape into 3/4 inch balls and place on greased baking sheets. 5. Flatten each cookie with the tines of a fork ? dip fork in flour periodically to keep it from sticking to the dough. 6. Bake at 375°F** for 10-12 minutes. 7. Makes approximately 3 dozen cookies, depending on size. |
