These bars are rich and thick and I decided to post the recipe here so that I could add it to my cookbook. Ingredients:
2/3 cup butter, softened |
2/3 cup peanut butter |
1 cup sugar |
1 cup packed brown sugar |
4 eggs |
2 teaspoons vanilla extract |
2 cups flour |
2 teaspoons baking powder |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1 (11 1/2 ounce) package milk chocolate chips |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350. In a large bowl, cream the butter, peanut butter, sugar and brown sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in vanilla. Combine the flour, baking powder and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture. Stir in chocolate chips. 2. Spread mixture into a greased 13x9 baking pan. Bake at 350 for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack. Cut into bars. |
