Another cookie recipe I use when I bake for Christmas. I have had this recipe for 30 years, so I have no idea where I got it. Ingredients:
1-3/4 cup all-purpose flour |
1 tsp. baking soda |
1/2 tsp. salt |
1/2 cup butter, at room temperature |
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter |
1/2 cup light or dark brown sugar (pack to measure) |
1 cup granulated sugar |
1 large egg |
1 tsp. vanilla |
45 chocolate kiss candies |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375F. 2. Sift flour with baking soda and salt. 3. In a medium size bowl, beat butter with peanut butter, brown sugar and 1/2 cup of the sugar. When creamy, beat in egg and vanilla. 4. Add flour mixture half at a time, beating well after each addition. 5. Put remaining 1/2 cup sugar on a piece of wax paper. 6. Shape dough into 1 balls, using a heaping teaspoonful of batter for each. Roll balls in sugar and place 1 apart on ungreased baking sheets. 7. Bake 10 minutes. 8. Remove from oven and press a chocolate kiss lightly into the top of each cookie. 9. Return to oven and bake 2 to 4 minutes longer, until cookies are lightly browned. 10. Transfer cookies to wire rack to cool. |
