I found this recipe in a very old community cookbook. It sounded very nice. 8) Ingredients:
1 cup enriched flour, sifted |
1/4 cup molasses |
1 teaspoon baking powder |
3/4 teaspoon salt |
1/4 cup peach jam |
1 1/2 cups oats |
1/2 cup shortening, melted |
1/2 cup seeded raisins |
1/4 cup brown sugar |
1 egg, beaten well |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375° and grease a baking sheet. 2. Combine the flour, baking powder and salt. 3. Add in the oats and raisins; mix well. 4. Add molasses, sugar, jam, and shortening to the egg. 5. Blend mixture well. 6. Gradually add flour mixture. 7. Drop by tablespoonfuls 3 inches apart onto baking sheet. 8. Bake for 12 minutes. |
