From Company's Coming. Ingredients:
7 peaches, with peel quartered and stoned |
1 orange, cut up and seeds removed |
1/3 cup maraschino cherry, drained |
granulated sugar, amount to equal pulp |
1/2 teaspoon almond flavoring |
Directions:
1. Put peaches, oranges and cherries through food grinder. Measure pulp and turn into large pot. 2. Add same amount of sugar as there is pulp. 3. Add almond flavouring. 4. Heat and stir until sugar dissolves and it comes to a boil. 5. Boil 30 to 40 minutes, stirring occasionally, until a small spoonful cooled on a chilled saucer jells. 6. Pour into hot sterilized half pint jars to within 1/4 inch of the top. Place sterilized metal lids on jars and screw metal bands on securely. For added assurance against spoilage, you may choose to process in boiling water bath for 5 minutes. |
