PEACH MARMALADE EMPANADAS This is a recipe I obtained from an Estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Stewart Estate in Terrell, Texas in 1982. Ingredients:
4 cups flour |
1 cup plus 2 tablespoons shortening |
3/4 teaspoon salt |
8 ounces cola |
peach marmalade |
Directions:
1. Sift flour and salt then cut in shortening. 2. Slowly add cola until dough forms a ball then roll out dough and cut into 3 circles. 3. Place teaspoonful jam on circle then fold in half and seal edges. 4. Bake at 350 for 15 minutes then roll in granulated sugar right after you take out of the oven. |
