Substitute with your favorite nut! This is from, From Honey Bees To Brain Freeze: A Kid's Guide To Cooking With Honey. I have not tried this just posting for safe keeping. Ingredients:
8 ounces cream cheese, softened |
1/3 cup honey |
1 teaspoon vanilla extract |
1 teaspoon cinnamon |
1 cup peanut butter |
8 slices whole wheat bread |
1 green apple, thinly sliced |
2 tablespoons sunflower seeds |
Directions:
1. In a medium bowl, beat cream cheese until fluffy. Add honey, vanilla extract and cinnamon; mix well. 2. Spread 2 tablespoons peanut butter on 4 slices of bread. Top peanut butter with 1-2 tablespoons of honey cream cheese mixture. Layer with apple slices, dividing evenly. Sprinkle with sunflower seeds. Place remaining 4 slices of bread face down on top of cream cheese and apple slices. 3. Cut sandwiches into halves or quarters and serve. |
