A recent publication in our local newspaper came up with this fun recipe for your favorite canine. Our Taz really loves them! Ingredients:
2 3/4 cups whole wheat flour |
1/2 cup powdered milk |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder |
1 whole egg |
6 tablespoons vegetable oil |
8 -10 tablespoons water |
2 (2 1/2 ounce) jars beef baby food or 2 (2 1/2 ounce) jars chicken baby food or 2 (2 1/2 ounce) jars lamb baby food or 2 (2 1/2 ounce) jars liver baby food |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F, Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl. 2. Kneed dough for approximately three minutes. 3. Roll to about 1/2 inch thick. Add a bit more flour if you think the dough is too sticky. 4. Cut with your favorite cookie cutter and place on an ungreased baking sheet. (I use a gingerbread man cutter for my 60 lb. dog, but if you have a smaller pooch, use a smaller cutter.). 5. Bake in a pre-heated oven at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes. 6. Remove and allow to cool. When cooled, place in a sealed container in the refrigerator or freeze part for later use. |
