Pavlova is a meringue dessert ( is crispy on the outside but light and fluffy inside ) named after the Russian ballet dancer, Ánna Pávlova to honour her during or after one of her tours to Australia/New Zealand . Read more . The dessert is a popular dish and an important part of the national cuisine of both countries, and is frequently eaten during celebratory or holiday meals such as Christmas dinner. Ingredients:
4 egg whites |
1 c caster sugar |
3tsp cornflour and 1 tsp white vinegar |
3 kiwi fruits , 1 punnet strawberries - siced |
1 passionfruit pulp |
1 c whipped cream |
Directions:
1. Pre heat oven at 150 deg . 2. Beat egg whites until peaks form . 3. Add sugar slowly while continue beating until it is dissolved . 4. Fold in vinegar and cornflour . 5. Cut a 20 cm circle on a baking paper . 6. Put in a baking tray and spread the meringue on the paper . 7. Shape it evenly , making furrows on the edge . 8. Bake for 40 mins or until pale and crisp . 9. Leave it in the oven to cool with the door ajar . 10. ( Can keep this for 6 hours ) 11. Spread whipped cream and top with fruits . 12. Drizzle with passiuon fruit pulp and serve . 13. ( Once decorated serve within an hour ) |
