This is the best recipe I have ever found for snickerdoodles. It has just enough of the eggnog flavor and they have the best texture. They were one of the favorites on the cookie trays I gave away for Christmas last year Ingredients:
1 cup butter or 1 cup margarine, softened |
2 cups sugar |
2 eggs |
1/4 cup eggnog |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
3 3/4 cups all-purpose flour |
1/2 teaspoon baking soda |
1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
sugar |
nutmeg |
Directions:
1. Cream butter or margarine and sugar till light and fluffy. 2. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each. 3. Blend in eggnog and vanilla. 4. Add dry ingredients into creamed mixture. 5. Form dough into 1 inch balls and roll in sugar with nutmeg added. Place balls 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet. 6. Bake cookies at 350°F for 8 to 9 minutes. |
