I got this recipe from Martha Stewart Living a long time ago. These cookies have everything (except for peanut butter - I guess Paul Bunyan didn't like peanut butter) :-) I won a blue ribbon at the county fair for these, under the cookie with the most ingredients category. Ingredients:
1 1/4 cups flour |
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon |
3/4 teaspoon baking soda |
1/2 teaspoon baking powder |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger |
1/2 cup shortening |
1/2 cup sugar |
1/2 cup molasses |
2 large eggs, lightly beaten |
1 (12 ounce) package semi-sweet chocolate chips |
1 1/2 cups old fashioned oats |
1 cup walnuts, chopped |
1 cup raisins |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350. 2. Sift together flour, cinnamon, baking soda, baking powder, salt and ginger. 3. Cream shortening and sugar on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes. Add molasses and beat to combine. Add eggs, one at a time and mix until fully incorporated. Add the flour mixture, one cup at a time. Using a wooden spoon, stir in chocolate chips, oats, walnuts and raisins. 4. Using a 2 inch ice cream scoop, drop dough onto greased baking sheet. Bake 15-18 minutes. Cool on pan for 5 minutes, then remove to wire rack to cool completely. |
