When we were kids my father had a favorite place to buy ribs made with a hot smoky barbecue sauce. After we moved to another city he started pining away for ribs with that sauce. Here's my version of it (Dad loved it!). It works best with pork or chicken. Grill or bake the meat until almost done, then brush the sauce liberally on all sides. Continue cooking until the meat is done, but be careful not to let the sauce burn. Serve with extra sauce on the side. Ingredients:
2 cups ketchup |
3/4 cup mustard |
1 1/2 cups cider vinegar |
1/4 cup liquid smoke flavoring |
3 tablespoons worcestershire sauce |
1 teaspoon tabasco sauce |
Directions:
1. Whisk mustard and ketchup together in a mixing bowl. 2. Slowly whisk in vinegar. 3. Stir in remaining ingredients. |
