This was given by Zella Gray from East Tennessee and has been used as prayful distraction in times of crisis - drop a spoonful of dough, say a prayer! Don't cut the recipe in half - doesn't turn out right. Ingredients:
2 cups white sugar |
3 1/2 cups brown sugar |
3 cups crisco butter flavor shortening |
2 teaspoons salt |
3 3/4 teaspoons baking soda |
1 tablespoon vanilla |
1 1/2 cups eggs |
8 cups flour |
24 ounces chocolate chips |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. 2. Mix shortening, sugars, eggs and vanilla. 3. Add dry ingredients. 4. Drop by the teaspoon on ungreased cookie sheets. 5. Bake for 7 to 8 minutes. 6. May be kept in refrigerator for a week or so (if they last that long). Can also be kept frozen before or after baking. 7. Makes 15 to 20 dozen cookies depending on the size. |
