1/4 cup sugar |
2 tablespoons cornstarch |
1 large egg |
1 cup 1% low-fat milk |
2 teaspoons butter or stick margarine |
1 teaspoon vanilla extract |
1/4 teaspoon almond extract |
Directions:
1. Combine sugar and cornstarch in a small saucepan; stir well. Add egg; stir well with a whisk until smooth. Add milk, stirring until smooth. 2. Stir constantly over medium heat 8 minutes until mixture thickens and comes to a boil. Remove from heat, and stir in butter and flavorings. Spoon mixture into a bowl and chill. |
