This recipe came from the Jiffy Cookbook. Ingredients:
1 (8 1/2 ounce) package pie crust mix |
1 (3 ounce) package cream cheese, softened |
8 ounces brie cheese, round |
1 egg |
1 teaspoon water |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. 2. Mix pie crust mix with cream cheese until well blended, making a soft dough. 3. Wrap dough with plastic wrap and refrigerate 30 minutes. 4. Remove from refrigerator and divide in half. On floured surface, roll out each halt to 1/8 inch thick. Cut a 7 inch pastry circle from each half. 5. Place one pastry circle on ungreased baking sheet. 6. Place Brie in center of pastry. Lightly wet edges of dough and place the other 7 inch circle on top. Pinch edges together lightly to seal. 7. In speeratore bowl, beat egg and water together. Brush mixture over top and sides of pastry. 8. Bake 15 minutes or until brown. 9. Remove from baking sheet immediately. 10. Let rest 15 minutes to allow cheese to set. Serve warm with apples or crackers. |
