~I never could make a crust ,no matter how hard I've tried over the years,but,this one made by someone who knows how,sure was good.~Pretty old recipe~ Ingredients:
2-1/2 cups flour,sifted |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1 cup lard |
1 farm fresh egg,beaten |
1 tablespoon vinegar |
cold water |
Directions:
1. Cut the lard into the flour and salt. 2. Beat the egg in a 1-1/2 cup measureing cup,add vinegar and fill cup with cold water. 3. Adding enough of this to the flour to make a dough that will hold together in a ball. 4. Make sure not to handle the dough with warm hands to much. 5. Roll out,line pan,pour whatever you like in for the filling,cover with more pastry,fuss a bit with the crimping,place in oven bake. |
