Pasta with Tomato Cream Sauce |

Ingredients:
2 tablespoon(s) olive oil |
2 tablespoon(s) butter |
1 medium onion, finely diced |
4 clove(s) garlic, minced |
2 can(s) (15 oz ea.) tomato sauce or marinara sauce |
salt & pepper to taste |
dash(es) sugar |
1 cup(s) heavy cream |
parm cheese, to taste |
1.5 pound(s) fettucine |
Directions:
1. cook pasta to al dente, drain - reserving 1 c. pasta water 2. heat butter and oil over medium heat - add onion and garlic, saute for a minute or so - pour in tomato/marinara sauce - add salt, pepper and sugar to taste - stir and cook over low heat for 25-30 minutes, stirring occasionally 3. remove from heat and stir in cream - add cheese to taste and then check seasonings - stir in pasta and serve immediately (thin with pasta water, if needed) |
