Pasta With Mushrooms Natalie

Natalie was concierge at Halloran House Hotel on 48th and Lexington in Manhatten. She shared this recipe from her childhood with the Frugal Gourmet.
Ingredients:
2 ounces dried mushrooms, soaked in water for 2 hours, drained and chopped
1 medium yellow onion, peeled and chopped
3 tablespoons olive oil
2 teaspoons garlic, minced
1/3 cup whipping cream
1 teaspoon tomato paste
salt
pepper
16 ounces dry pasta, cooked al dente (use your favorite)
parmesan cheese, grated (or romano)
Directions:
1. Saute mushrooms, onion and garlic in olive oil. When hot and flavorful, add the cream and tomato paste. Salt and pepper. Simmer for a few minutes and toss with the pasta.
2. Garnish with cheese.
