I received this recipe from a friend who says it is from a famous Italian restaurant on The Hill in St. Louis. It is definitely a good one. Ingredients:
1 head broccoli, broken into bite-size pieces |
3/4 lb fettuccine |
1 pint half-and-half cream |
3/4 cup parmesan cheese |
3 teaspoons minced garlic |
5 1/2 tablespoons butter |
1 dash nutmeg |
white pepper |
salt and black pepper |
1 (4 ounce) can mushrooms, drained |
Directions:
1. Boil pasta for 5 minutes; drain. 2. Reserve 1 cup liquid. 3. Add all ingredients except parmesan cheese. 4. Cook about 10 minutes until broccoli is tender. 5. Add liquid until you see it coming up through pasta. 6. Add cheese to thicken. |
