My great-grandmother's recipe. Ingredients:
1/2 cup shortening or 1/2 cup butter |
1 cup sugar |
2 eggs |
2 ounces unsweetened chocolate, melted |
1/2 cup sifted matzo cake meal |
1/2 teaspoon table salt |
1 cup coarsely chopped walnuts |
Directions:
1. Cream shortening and sugar together. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Beat until fluffy. 2. Stir in melted chocolate, then fold in cake meal and salt. Stir in walnuts. 3. Pour into greased 8 square baking pan. Bake in preheated 350°F oven for 30 minutes. |
