Did you know that the name Daiquirà is also the name of a beach near Santiago, Cuba, an iron mining town. Well, supposedly it was invented by an American mining engineer, named Jennings Cox, who happened to be in Cuba at the time of the Spanish-American War. Interesting, huh? This one's from Cosmo's Official Cocktail Book. Ingredients:
2 tablespoons rum (1 ounce) |
4 teaspoons vanilla liqueur (2/3 ounce) |
1 1/2 ounces passion-fruit juice |
1/2 cup water |
2 teaspoons simple syrup (1/3 ounce dissolve one part sugar in one part boiling water and cool) |
Directions:
1. Place all ingredients in a blender. Add a handful of ice cubes, and blend until it has a smoothie-like consistency. |
