Celebrate the Vancouver Winter Olympics while enjoying a bowl of hearty pork chili. You'll score big with family friends when you serve up this delicious dish. Ingredients:
1 tablespoon vegetable oil |
1 lb ground pork |
1 large onion, chopped |
2 tablespoons garlic, minced |
1 cup green pepper, chopped |
1 (796 ml) can diced tomatoes |
2 tablespoons chili powder |
1 tablespoon ground cumin |
1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder |
1 teaspoon salt |
1 teaspoon ground pepper |
1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce |
1 (540 ml) can kidney beans, drained and rinsed |
Directions:
1. In a saucepan, heat oil. Add pork, onion, garlic, and peppers. 2. Cook over medium heat until pork is no longer pink, about 5 minutes. Stir frequently breaking up pork. Add tomatoes and seasonings. 3. Simmer gently uncovered for about 1 hour. Add a little water if mixture becomes too dry. 4. Add beans and simmer for 10 minutes longer. Serve with a dollop of sour cream or sprinkle with Monterey Jack cheese and broil just before serving. |
