PARTY TREAT This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Long Estate in Irving, Texas in 1987. Ingredients:
1 box graham crackers |
2 sticks butter |
1 cup sugar |
1 egg slightly beaten |
1 cup milk |
1 cup flaked coconut |
1 cup nuts |
1 cup graham cracker crumbs |
icing |
1 stick butter melted |
1 box confectioner sugar |
1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring |
1/4 cup milk |
Directions:
1. Line rectangle cookie pan with squares of graham crackers. 2. Melt butter in a pot then add sugar, egg and milk then cook 1 minute stirring constantly. 3. Take off stove and add coconut, nuts, graham cracker crumbs and mix well. 4. Pour mixture over cracker squares then add another layer of crackers. 5. Spread icing over top. 6. To make icing combine all ingredients and spread over graham crackers. 7. Cover and allow to set overnight in the refrigerator. 8. Mix ingredients together and spread over graham crackers. 9. Cover and let set overnight in the refrigerator. |
