This recipe is an accompaniment for Annabel's Baby Back Ribs. Prepare this sauce 2 days ahead of your party for the flavors to meld. Any extra freezes well. Ingredients:
2 cups ketchup |
1/2 cup minced red onion |
1 quart water |
1 cup cider vinegar |
2 tablespoons paprika |
1 tablespoon honey |
1/4 cup each dark-brown sugar, chili powder, fresh lemon juice and worcestershire sauce |
3 cloves of garlic, very finely minced |
Directions:
1. Combine all the ingredients in a heavy saucepan. Bring to a slow boil; cook until thickened (25-30 minutes), stirring constantly to prevent the sauce from scorching. Strain into a bowl to remove the onion and garlic. Cool, then refrigerate for 2 days. 2. Per 1/4-cup serving: 60 calories, 15g carbohydrates, 1g protein, no fat, no cholesterol.
